P: Image dragging issues

Explorer ,
Jul 11, 2020 Jul 11, 2020

When I repeatedly drag an image from side to side in the Development module zoomed in at 100%, image sometimes kind of jumps back as if my mouse was suddenly moved back. This doesn't happen if I move a box in the Navigator window, and this started after the last update.

A few questions for you:

Mac or Windows?
OS version number?
Type of pointing device?

Do you have a movie showing the behavior? Would it be possible to get one?

Good questions. Latest Windows 10 May 2020 release, version 10.0.19041.329, standard mouse.
I tested my mouse for any sticky buttons, but it has none. And I am positive this began only after the latest LR update. I also have updated my NVidia drivers to the latest version. Youtube link attached. You can me dragging the image from left to right and back, and that image "jumps" back several times.

Incredible. Am I the only one got irritated by this? Anyway, glad to help and thanks for cooperation. Would like to hear the status of that bug in the near future, though.

@Rick The issue is still here. Zoomed image jumps back occasionally when I quickly drag the image.

Could one of you post a video of what you're seeing? We can't repro this and are wondering if it has something to do with your specific set up.

Does it happen if you turn off GPU?

Filmed this, take the file from https://we.tl/t-hpfH9ugWkS

The issue can be seen at the very beginning of me dragging the image, and at the very end. This doesn't happen with both GPU options turned off, but comes back if I enable the main/first GPU option. By default both are enabled. GPU is NVidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super (27.21.14.5167) - 8 Gb, by ASUS. I will update my drivers again, but 99% sure this won't help.

When zoomed in to 100% in development view and repeatedly dragging the image with the mouse, the image often jumps back to a previous position.

I upgraded from version 8.4 where this did not happen.

This is extremely annoying.

I reported this as a bug - same here on Windows 10. It doesn’t happen with GPU off.

Terry,

You haven't provided any hardware info on the forum so we can only guess. Your video card is probably inadequate for V10.1. Adobe gave us a significant performance benefit for the develop sliders by making heavy use of the video card.

@Jerry_Syder

Yes, turning off GPU acceleration seems to work.

Definitely a bug.
