P: No pressure sensitivity for Wacom Intuos Pro

Hi, I'm using a new Wacom Intuos Pro with latest Firmware. According to Wacom's Diagnosis Tool the pressure sensitivity works fine from 0-100%.However, in LR I cannot use the pressure sensitivity as I'm always getting the full 100% (e.g. when using the adjustemnt brush). I know this was an issue in the past but should be solved by now.
I'm using Windows 10, latest release, on a high perfomance PC.

Does anyone have a clue where I need to search for a solution?
Without that feature the tablet is almost useless....

BTW: It's working in Photoshop without any problems...

I've tested on Mac 10.14.6 and Win 10 (1903) using the latest Wacom Drivers and pressure sensitivity is working for me on Lightroom 9.0. 

Make sure you have Wacom's latest driver installed and configured for Lightroom. You may need a custom pressure sensitivity curve to give you the feel you'd prefer.

Thank you for your feedback. May I kindly ask you to test it again using a Windows 10 PC?
I found many hints in the Internet that it is working well with Mac but not with (also previous) Windows versions.

Latest drivers are installed, of course. I even checked with the Wacom Helpdesk and they suggested to contact Adobe.

Sorry, I actually overlooked that.

However, it seems that on a Windows PC you have to decide what you consider most:

a) If "Use Windows Ink" is ON, then yes, you can use pressure sensitivity. BUT: the adjustment brush works only with a delay. I.e. you start to move the brush, but only after a third or half second you actually recognize the result of the pen movement on the photo.

b) If "Use Windows Ink" is OFF, then you don't have any delays when using the adjustment brush.however, pressure sensitivity is NOT working then.

I habe attached two pictures as an example.

Please note, even with "Use Windows Ink" is set ON, the pressure sensitivity works not as expected. In the picture you will notice some white spots in the line. They were not caused by a firm pressure on the pen but just happend while drawing the line...

I get the same result with Windows Ink checked and unchecked.  I have pressure sensitivity in either case. 

Try setting your Flow to a lower value like 50 and then test your sensitivity. Does it feel like you have more control?

A lower value was a good hint! The tool behaves differently if using a value under 100%. However, very often I get these strange dots in my drawings (please see picture attached) - especially when changing direction or lift the pen. And the delay also still exists.

I have the same problem for years. Actual I worked with Windows 10 (1909) and Lightroom Classic 9.1. I have installed the latest Wacom driver, version 6.3.38-2. 


In Photoshop all worked fine.

Yes, I can also confirm that there is major difference of how Camera Raw and Lightroom Classic interpret the Wacom Pen. In Camera Raw it works smoothly and as charm whereas in Lightroom you constantly get different results which basically makes it unusable. There is lag and inconsistency in the lines. I am also using the latest Windows 10 update, Wacom M Pro driver and Adobe products.
The problem is in Lightroom Classic and the Adobe team must definitely resolve this issue and unify the way Camera Raw and Lightroom Classic engines work. By default, LR must use the same CR engine but apparently something doesn't work right and must be fixed as there are more complaints that are coming. Instead of speeding my post-processing I need to throw away the Wacom which is not a cheap toy after all. I also attach the results I get from CR vs LR while drawing the same lines in exactly the same way. I have already talked to an Adobe User Support specialist and he helped me a bit with adjusting the brush flow (50) and feather (90) but this is just a workaround of the main problem and again it doesn't work as it does in CR and has a great amount of lag. I really hope this is fixed in one of the next LR updates.

I too have this same problem. I've not used Wacom and Lightroom together simply because of this.  I have the Intuos Pro Small.  I downloaded the latest driver today to try again but the problem remains and all my research says the fault is with Adobe.  Pressure sensitivity seems to work OK with Windows Ink enabled but the sliders are unmanageable; turn Windows Ink off and you can grab the sliders OK but then pressure sensitivity doesn't work - and if you search for this problem with Google you'll see it's been around for years.  Truly disappointing.  I love the idea of the pen but, after forking out a lot of money for it, it just sits on the shelf unused.  I think we have been appallingly treated, it cannot be beyond the wit of the team to fix this but we seem to be totally ignored.

I have the same issue, either deciding for pressure sensitivity and accepting the lag, or no lag but also no pressure sensitivity. Using intuos 5, Lightroom classic and win10. All drivers new! this is not acceptable, is there any solution?

Good morning all

Just looking for an update re the issues highlighted above - since 80% of my PP is done in Lightroom my expensive Wacom tablet still sits idly here in the office rarely getting used.  Since the camera raw 'engine' in Lightroom and Photoshop is essentially the same this is crazy.

The same problem with Wacom Intuos PT S (CTH-490). There is a new Wacom driver today ( 6.3.39-1). Great expectations, no result s. The problem is definitely in LR. I can't understand this situation.

i would like to know if those whom experienced these problems with Windows Ink ON/OFF also experienced the problem with local adjustments. Let me try to explain.

I went thru all of above (because i have had the same problems as all others) but nobody mentioned that when the Windows Ink is OFF (unchecked in the Wacom app) you are not able to switch between two Brush Tools (or two Radial filter) without moving them. It almost always moves a bit, so the effect move. Which is pretty annoying when you work with precise mask (for example for eyes).

Anyone same issue? Any solution? Thank!

(using Wacom Intuos BT M, Wacom Intuos Pro S, Windows 10, newest LR at the moment).
