My plan gives me auto-updates for LRC and Premier Pro. In the last few days both programs have had issues and are unusable.

Working on a Dell XPS 15 7590 that has handled these programs flawlessly for a couple years.

I am on Window 11 and did a reinstall yesterday. Latest version. No change to the problem.

Dell tech support cannot find anything wrong with my hardware or operating system. I spent 12 hours with them going through everything.

When going through images in Library or Develop a little black box shows up saying that and Unknown Error has occurred. Then some images has an asteric on them that when clicked says, "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to the photo"

This is most likely a hardware problem, though (less likely) it could be a file permissions issue.  LR and Premiere share very little code, so if they're both having problems, it's almost certainly not related to a shared bug.  The exclamation point on a catalog photo with that error message usually indicates that LR can't read the photo from disk, which is typically caused by a hardware problem.

You might try running your own hardware diagnostics or going to a third-party support option (e.g. Geek Squad) if you're not technically savvy.
