It is not the splash screen but after that screen when it tries to load the Library page, i.e. the panels. I have 3 default panels in the Library Module. The left navigator panel, the center photo files, and the right is the drill down on the Library module.

Oh.... and one more thing. It is happening on both LR classic and LR. I have a feeling that there isa something going on with my Windows Explorer. However, everthing else works fine so I'm not sure.

Possible diagnostic
If LrC brought you to the image in the Develop Module quicker that the previous opening into the Library, perhaps something is wrong in the catalog. Thinking missing photos, missing folders
If LrC did not upon restart bring you directly to the Develop Module, and to that image, perhaps something wrong with preferences file??

I found the problem. It was/is my catalog. I am not sure what happened but when I move the previous version catalog and photos to my laptop with the latest version LRC it works fine. If I do the same test with the latest verion of my catalog, it fails. I can go back to the previous version and again it works. The issue I now have to solve and I'm working in it is there a large number of photos that I had added between the 2 catalog versions. So I am going through teh exercise of adding the new photos to my laptop LRC.
Thank you for your help. Your last mention of maybe it is the catalog got me thinking I should try the old version on my laptop. Thanks again for your help!!
