All presets are gone

In the "develop mode" all presets are gone. If you point the cursor over the panel where the presets used to be, they are applied to a photo.
At the same time in "Library Mode" all the presets are in their exact positions. I can create new presets, but they are also invisible. Reinstallation of the Lightroom application could not solve the problem. I'm using the latest version of the app on Windows 10

Check the preferences for "Store Presets for Catalog" and maybe toggle this on and off: better?

Try resetting LR's preferences:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.

Others with these symptoms have fixed it by resetting LR's preferences:

A grayed out preset means it is only partially compatible with the selected raw image file. It is for a specific camera model.

The screenshot shows an empty (but tall) Presets panel, with no presets being displayed:

There have been a few other reports of that, at least some fixed by resetting preferences.

That's disappointing -- this person reported resetting preferences worked for him:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/presets-not-accesible-nicht-mehr-zug%C3...

This person said something about the Windows registry but didn't provide any details, unfortunately:

Moderators, @Rikk Flohr: Photography, please merge with this thread reporting similar symptoms:

(There have been at least three reports since December of these symptoms.)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Lrc, develop
  2. Klick on the Triangel to show the owner's presets.

Expected result: have access to any of my presets in LrC
Actual result: An empty space is shown

A few others have reported tall blank Preset panels -- it's not normal behavior. Normally, if there are no presets to display, it should be very short:

johnrellis_0-1641248881868.png

Troubeshooting steps:

1. Ensure that Preferences > Presets > Store Presets With This Catalog is unchecked. Then restart LR.

2. Click the + menu in the upper-right corner of the Presets panel and make sure all the preset groups are checked. (Once the panel is working again, you can uncheck the ones you don't want.)

3. Make sure you have a photo selected in the Develop module.

Thank you very much, John!

This way I let my presets in Lrc emerge again easily.

I'm going to store your advice (because you wrote "resetting [...] can fix all sorts of wonky behavior").

Wish you a good winter
