With many cameras now supporting the new .HEIF file format similar to Apple's .HEIC from iPhones, will we see the ability to directly import and edit this file type in LrC anytime soon?
Is anyone aware of any editing apps that are currently capable of editing these files? I use the A7S3 and would love to be able to edit them directly without first converting to .TIFF or JPEG. HEIF has some very promising attributes that could seriously impact people's workflows moving forward.

Adobe never states in advance what new features will be available, or when they will be available. Your guess is as good as mine.

You can submit a feature request in the official Adobe feedback forum, where Adobe wants all product suggestions and bug reports:

Product developers read everything posted there, but rarely participate here, which is primarily a user-to-user forum.
