Apple Photos not showing as a source in Lightroom Classic

New Here ,

I have just downloaded Lightroom Classic (version 14.0.1) on my Mac (OS Sequioa 15.1) but Apple Photos isn't showing up as a source to import photos from. I have spent hours uninstalling and reinstalling the apps. Is LrC incompatible with Apple Photos?

Lightroom Classic cannot look inside the Apple Photos library. If you want to import photos that are in that library, then you need to export them for Apple Photos first. Export them as 'unmodified original'. I believe Apple Photos also has an option not to store photos inside its library, but in a normal folder elsewhere on your disk. Those photos should import just fine, but then you have to select that folder and not try to select the Apple Photos library.
