Auto-stack by Capture Time Issue

I want to stack selected images and not the entire folder. I thought I could do this before, but now it stacks the whole folder. Is this correct behavior? Thanks

It has always been this way and I think is a poor behavior.  It should stack the SELECTED photos.  Info from Adobe Helpx

Thanks. That's what I figured. It seems it wouldn't be that hard to change the behavior to stack only those photos selected.
