Hello:   I successfully laid out a book and sent it to Blurb.  I am attempting to create a new book from a different folder of photos.  I am confused because the first book layout (and photos) appear with the contents of ALL other photo folders when choosing the BOOK heading for different folders.

Questions:

1.  Can I delete the layout for a new book from a different folder?

2.  Will deleting the layout affect the first book (that I want to reprint)?

Thanks, Bob

PS.  I'm on and iMac.

Question 2  First-. "Will deleting the layout affect the first book (that I want to reprint)?

Yes, unless you have specifically created a "Saved Book Collection" by clicking on the tab that appears above the main window when you start a new book from the top Module menu line.

A 'Saved Book Collection' is your Book design (in total) that is updated in real time as you edit the book.

Each new book requires saving in a 'Saved Book Collection'.

Each new book requires saving in a 'Saved Book Collection'.

Question 1 Next-  "Can I delete the layout for a new book from a different folder?"

Yes. IF you created a 'Saved Book Collection' to 'protect' your previous book.

The random appearance of photos in a new book can be annoying but a simple workflow can overcome-

1. Run [Auto layout]. This will populate your new book with the images from you new selection, as well as unwanted photos "inherited" from you previous book.
2. Run [Clear layout] directly after. This will not only clear the layout, but also clear out those unwanted old photos from the film strip.

3. Re-run [Auto Layout] if you want! Using a Preset that has been set for your desired page templates, etc.

Now immediately create a 'Saved Book Collection'. This special Book Collection will ALWAYS be the way you return to this specific book for editing.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.
