Can I delete my adobe camera raw 2 cache files on my iMac without it affecting anything in lightroom

I have limited space on my imac due to the majority of space (160GB) being taken up by adobe camera cache files that have been created from my photo uploads in lightroom

Can I delete my adobe camera raw 2 cache files on my iMac without it affecting anything in lightroom? I dont want to delete them and then realise it has an effect on my current projects in lightroom.

This also stops me from using photoshop (scratch disk are full) due to the lack of space on the imac.

Any help would be great.

You set a limit to the ACR cache in preferences:

It’s totally OK to delete Camera Raw cache files.

It’s also OK to delete the Lightroom Classic previews cache (…Previews.lrdata) if it becomes extremely large.

Because both are caches, if deleted they will automatically rebuild themselves as needed using current edit metadata. They do not affect your original files in any way; like many other caches on your system they are used to boost performance.

What does affect your Lightroom Classic projects is if you delete the catalog (.lrcat) file or the original photo/video files, so don’t delete those.

Thanks very much.

I'm beginning to delete the cache to create space and quicken things up.

I accidentally enlarged my cache's maximum size to 200gb so no wonder I was struggling.

Thanks again.
