I've started to using Lightroom Classic on new PC (Win11) connected to NAS (Synology) used previously with old PC. All settings migrated succesfully, photos still resde on NAS, everything works ok (editing etc.). EXCEPT that I can't import any photos into NAS folder, receiving message about target folder not having write permissions. I can verify in Credentials Manager that Windows 11 is using correct NAS user and credentials to access folder (with W/R permissions), I can copy and delete files to/from folder using PC File Explorer, I can delete photos (from disk) from that folder using Lightroom interface etc. So folder IS WRITABLE when accessesd from PC. Only for importimng I'm getting this message .... Any ideas?

In File Explorer, look at the top level (root folder) of the NAS drive -- is there a folder named "DCIM"?

I am not sure I understand your question ? NAS exposes only folders explicitly created as shared on the NAS system side (using Synology DiskSystem Manager interface). No, neither on root level nor below there are no folder called DCIM

What I meant was the top level of the mounted network volume as seen by the client machine, i.e. what File Explorer shows when you click on the drive letter assigned to the mounted volume.  If a mounted volume contains "DCIM" as a top-level folder, recent versions of LR will effectively consider that volume the same as a memory card and refuse to make changes to it when you import from it.  (This was an ill-considered hack, in my opinion, to recognize Cfexpress cards as memory cards rather than external disk drives.)

But since DCIM isn't at the top-level of your mounted volume, that's not an issue here.

Ok, got it. Thanks for info - this is an absurd indeed but not my case anyway. BTW - I don't have NAS mounted as drive, I am accessing it directly through LAN.

I can't import any photos into NAS folder, receiving message about target folder not having write permissions.

Please CONFIRM that the Destination Panel of the Import dialog box of Lightroom Classic points to the NAS where you have write permission. It might be pointing somewhere else. Better yet, show us a screen capture of the entire Import dialog box. Use the "Insert Photos" icon to include your screen capture in your reply — do NOT attach files.

Your first screen capture indicates you have selected Copy as DNG in the import dialog. Why are you copying the images, are they not to remain on the NAS?
Its best to use the Add option that way the original files will remain in the NAS.

As you can see the source folder is on my PC, not NAS. I am dumping photos from SD card of my camera to PC temporary directory and then importing them through Lightroom into selected NAS folder.
>> Its best to use the Add option that way the original files will remain in the NAS - no it's not. It very much depends on your workflow. In my case, as described above, I am importing copies of original files to Lightroom (copying them to NAS at the same time). This way I have DNGs (rather than my camera native RAW format files) stored as master copy. Plus I can apply some operations like adding metadata etc.
Thanks for your comment, but the question is about write permissions, not the workflow ....
