Cannot move photo in Grid view

I had a photo that I edited in Topaz Denoise and then wanted to compare it if I used the LRC Denoise function.  When I did this the result appeared at the end of my grid of photos.  I liked the LRC version better  but when I tried to move it to a different location I was not able to do anything.  In fact I am not able to move any of the photos now.  I am in Custom Order so can you tell me what I need to do in order to move my photos around?

You should be able to drag photos into the custom order you want within a standard Collection - or when you are viewing the images from a single Folder.

But not when viewing a Smart Collection, or a folder view that is also showing images from subfolders.

No need to move photos to compare one to another. Just select the two photos in the grid and then press C.

Or sort the photos differently, perhaps by file name or by capture time. This should put the two versions of the photo next to each other.
