Hi all,
Just recently, I went to open Lightroom Classic on mac and it would continually fail to open. I tried to update, and this did not work. I tried opening older versions of Lightroom Classic and this did not work either. I was advised to uninstall, and then try reinstalling the app to no avail. I can still open Photoshop and Lightroom but lightroom classic is not working. My adobe creative cloud desktop is up to date. I have tried troubleshooting with the steps listed on the Adobe site, and I am not sure what else to do. Is there something I am missing?
Thanks

Did you search for any ".lock" file in the LrC folder?
Another issues could be a corrupt catlog. A corrupt catalog can prevent LrC from opening and not result in any error message. Try unzipping your last catalog backup, double click on that file. That will start LrC if the issue is a corrupt catalog.

Thanks for the reply, Ken.
I have unzipped the latest catalog backup, but since I have not been able to reinstall Lightroom Classic, the file will not open.

You reinstall LrC via the Adobe Creative Cloud app. Have you tried that?
That app is were you login to your Adobe account and have access to all the apps in your plan.

Do you get an error message? If so please tell us at what part of the process you get the error, and also please tell us the complete unedited error message, word-for-word. If no error message, explain "fail to open" in more detail, what does happen?
Also please tell us the version NUMBER of LrC (if you know it) and the version of MacOS.
