I am loosing my mind as I have photoshoot with 100 employees and I need to get this thing running.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hey, @alicjak84656760. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Lightroom Classic from Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

Check the camera's permissions in the Privacy & Security section in macOS, revoke any previously granted permissions, and see if that helps. Also, as a test, check any other apps that can detect with the Camera, like the EOS Utility.

Just to be sure, ensure Lightroom Classic has the required permissions on macOS: https://adobe.ly/4hmGnNB

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!
Sameer K

Hej @Sameer K thank you so much for taking time to reply and for trying to help.

Well, it's not going that well.

I managed to get LR info (attached).

Yesterday, when I was plugging the cable I recall seeing computer pictorial on screen of camera as if showing it's connected. Today I don't see it happening. I tried various cables and everything and I can't launch the EOS Utility (I can only do it wireless).

I reainstalled EOS utility, but it doesn't open when camera is connected, so I guess there is communication lacking. Which would of course made connecting to LR also impossible. However yesterday I am sure it was establishing connection as I recall the window of EOS Utility opening on it's own  (however, i have a feeling it was asking to connect via wireless as a next step... )

I went into Privacy and Settings and I added Lightroom to the permission as per the video.

I am not able to find area where to grant permissions "to camera". I granted permission to EOS Utility.

I just bought new tether cable so I doubt it's the issue... tried various connection from various usb entrances as I heard it might be issue...

I am bidding for this big job and without it set up, I am lost. I figured somehow how to do wireless utility option and can somehow open the photos in LR but its couple steps process and not so smooth.

And how to do it if client doesnt have good wireless? 😞

I am sorry im bugging you, but everything seemed so much easier with old 5d mark II...

I have Mac with Ventura 13.4, Firmware 1.5.0.

I read about someone having same issue that camera would connect via cable to laptop like 10% of time only. That would explain why yesterday it displayed couple of times...

Thank you for everything, even if I don't reach anywhere...

@Sameer K ok, one success, I managed to connect it with cable to EOS utility. I needed to change setting in yellow tab in camera, under number 5 to choose USB connection app and photo/video import.

But LR still doesn't tether...
