How does one center text vertically in a canvas border that surrounds an image without the text appearing in the center of the picture?  I understand how to do it if it were a continuous canvas, but not vertically in the border.

I assume you are asking about a Watermark appearing on a 'white' border that surrounds an image.

First you will need to have or add a white border around the image either by using Photoshop (expanding the canvas) or Export a Print to JPG (with suitable margins ) that you then re-import into LrC.

Using this 'new' image with the white border in the print module- Edit your watermark  to 'Anchor to left-central location and Rotate the text.

If you were to create an Identity Plate (with your text) that can be dragged anywhere on the print page, even onto a 'paper' border and not on the image cell.

Watermarks can only be placed ON the image.

Identity Plates can be placed anywhere on the PAGE.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 14.0, Photoshop 26.0, ACR 17.0, Lightroom 8.0, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 15.0.0, Windows-11.
