CF Express Cards Type B Treated Like A Hard Drive

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature but either way, it is a hazard. When importing from CFExpress Type B cards into Lightroom LrC, one is able to chose to move (rather than copy) the files from the memory card with the potential hazard of the losing files.

It's a feature of the OS and yes, one must be very careful not to choose "Move" during import.

On Win10, the CFe B card shows up in Windows Explorer as one of the drives and a SD card shows up as removeable media that can be ejected.

Same for MacOS. It's the OS that treats the card as an external hard drive, so you can't call it a bug. Adobe could/should include a scan for a DCIM folder, which is typical for a memory card, and if that is present disable the ADD and MOVE options for such a disk.

It's not a bug. It's the way software has worked for decades! Moving a document moves it. From one location to another. There is no hazard. If you want to copy the document, copy it. If you don't want to move it, don't.

This is a disruption in the usual workflow of almost everyone using LR. Adobe needs to find a way around this "normai" function.

Almost everyone no, you; perhaps.

Some of us have no issues, some of us know the difference between Move and Copy:

The “Move” option copies files from the selected source folder, copies them to the destination folder, and then deletes the folder and files from the original location. This is a neat solution for importing photos into Lightroom, placing them in the exact folder location you want them to end up in and not ending up with yet more duplicate images.
