i have been having problems syncing from the cloud to lightroom classic - basically syncing wasnt happening...moreover, the little checkboxes for syncing collections were not showing...
having sought advice i went into the relevant section of lightroom preferences , held down the option key and hit the 'rebuild sync data' tab - on the prompt i closed lightroom and reopened it and started the resync and it worked a treat - all collections were synced correctly and the checkboxes were in place...
HOWEVER !! when i opened LRclassic the next day i was back to square one - i repeated the whole process as above with the same results...
BUT i shouldnt have to do this every time i open the program so is there a fix for this please ?

I experienced something very similar - sync simply stopped working on a specific day (fine between all the Cloud Apps). Rebuilding Sync sorted it, although it took a few days (the volume of photos I have in the Cloud) to remedy. It's been fairly good since then (so far).
I have hheard of others who lost their sync buttons next to Collections that then came back; hopefully you have enough evidence 9as it seems to repro on your system) to help Adobe.
