Clone/Healing tool area selection out of zoomed in frame

While using LR Classic, when I zoom in to use the clone/heal tool it occassionally choses an area outside the zoomed in frame.  Is there a way to direct the selection area within the view frame other than ramdom selections using the "/" key?

If you're referring to the Content Aware heal tool, then use Cmd+Drag to select the area you want to use as a custom source.

There's no way to force LrC to auto detect the area to use as source from within the visible area. However, you can manully choose a better source.

With Heal and Clone tool you should be able to see where LrC is copying the photo content from. If you can't, then tap the 'H' key. With source and target now visible you can drag the source around until you find the best match.
