So I started a second catalogue on an external drive. I used it on a second computer in another state. When I came home, I merged the 2nd catalogue to my Master catalogue. It went fine.

I would like to use this catalogue again when I go away again. I left the NEF photos on it, but the edits and collections are also still on it. How would I delete them, since i've already merged them to my Master cataloge.

Hope this make sense..

David

From my reading David you have a 2nd Catalog on an external drive along with your image files?

This was taken to another computer (interstate) and opened and used?

Returning "home", you then imported that work from 2nd Catalog into your Master Catalog: but where are the images for the master Catalog?

What exactly do you want to delete from your "travelling" Catalog? NEF image files?

The "Second Catalog" on your second computer can be reused, or continue to be used.

When it comes time to 'Merge' this Catalog with the Home system a second time- the [Import from another Catalog] process will identify files that have previously been merged. And you also have an option to preserve editing done in both catalogs by Lr creating Virtual Copies. ie. you will see a 'Home version edit' as a master and a 'remote version edit' as a Virtual copy.
