I am using a plugin called Focus Points that show the focus point of the camera in a image.
https://github.com/musselwhizzle/Focus-Points
It shows the focus points for my 5D Mark III after converting the CR3 raw file to DNG, However, when inporting and converting my R5 CR3 files to DNG, it appears that the process removes the entire Canon maker notes section, including all focus information.
IMHO this is a bug in Adobe DNG converter and it needs to be checked if this applies to the entire R-Series or just specific models.
Why is adobe doing this and how do you STOP it??
Here are 2 sample images taken this past weekend. one CR3 and the same file after converting to DNG.

Thank you..

Hello
When converting Canon R5 CR3 files to DNG, some metadatalike focus points is not preserved. This is due to DNG not fully supporting newer Canon R-series maker notes. Older cameras (like 5D Mark III) retain this info because their metadata is handled differently.
Workarounds
Use CR3 files directly in Lightroom or Capture One.
Check for updates to DNG Converter, though focus points are generally lost.
I fear it’s a limitation of the DNG format for newer Canon cameras.
Maybe I'm wrong and someone can help here with better news or point me in the right direction.

I was hoping it was something fixable.. I have been converting CR3 files to DNG for years... I guess I have to determine if there is any fuctionality loss by importing CR3 files and not converting..
