i recently downloaded lightroom 12.5 from creative cloud onto a 2022 m2 macbook air with 16gb ram. I used it once very lightly, just altering the colour and lighting slightly and it worked fine. Once i hit the print button, the app crashed. I tried reopening it, it would open very quickly, show me a blank "page 1 of 1" screen for 1 second, then crash right away over and over again. I even tried deleting and redownloading the app, and it still does this. What do I do? Btw i have illustrator and photoshop on the same computer and they work fine.

Yes, Adobe have not yet released a version of Lightroom-Classic that is said to be compatible with Sonoma OS.

"but they have for photoshop and illsutrator?" - Have they? Do you know? If anyone knows they would be under a NDA not to reveal. I don't have an insight to Adobe App releases.
The Photo and Design Apps are developed by different Adobe teams. Nothing suggests that if one will work that the others will also work.
So my answer is still an unknowing 'yes' to- "Could this be why its not working?"
