Creative Cloud Desktop Using 5-10% CPU Constantly

On a fresh boot my PC is idle, no windows have been opened, and no applications are running.

Yet the "Creative Cloud Desktop" process is burning through 5-10% CPU without stopping.
This is 24/7 without any break.

It's not open.
It's not been opened.
It's not updating anything.
It isn't using any Disk or Network.
It shouldn't be burning through CPU cycles like this.

If my other services (Steam, Backblaze, Nvidia, ShareX, Discord, Spyder Utility etc) were all doing the same, I'd have 30-60% of my CPU unavailable for whatever I'm working on, due to background processes taking up CPU while doing nothing productive.

I've disabled "fonts" as suggested in another post I found, but that didn't help...

Any ideas what the heck it's doing 24/7?
I've attached a screenshot here of it doing "nothing" while I had chrome + Discord open...

Windows 11 (22H2) OS Build 22621.1702 - Not installed the May update yet.

Adobe CCD is Version: 5.10.0.573 (no updates available, and installed it fresh yesterday.

Putting aside your obnoxious snark for a minute, it's hard to understand why you'd expect a programme whose sole job it is to run constantly, to monitor communications/updates/what have you from Adobe, not to be active in the background.

Don't like it running? Disable it in Task Manager.

Keith I suggest you re-read the original post.

There is no reason for CCD to be taking up 5-10 % of my CPU CONSTANTLY without stop 24/7.

That is entirely unreasonable, and (as per my original post if you'd read it) if we accepted this, I'd have about 50-30% of my CPU left if all my other applications did the same thing.

Some of which are backup applications constantly monitoring for new files.

So you're suggesting, every time we find an issue with a rogue application we just "Disable it in Task Manager" and never fix it...

Nice one mate - that's a great way to deal with problems.

Also.. are you suggesting D fosse's response to a user reported problem, of saying that he isn't affected by said problem is "helpful"?

If we all went around telling others we were not experiencing the same problem we'd never get anything fixed.

Anyways, turns out I was right there is an issue.

For some reason, the CCD app is "stuck" trying to sync 70.5MB of files.

This is despite me not using the cloud storage, and no files, photos, deleted items or anything else being present to be synced.

If I press "pause sync", and then "start sync" again, the sync "finishes" and it's fine till next boot, when the same behaviour occurs.

I've checked with Adobe Support today and they've raised it to the next tier of support.

Perhaps there is some kind of hidden/ghost file that I cannot see which hopefully they can.

Why do you have sync on if there's nothing to sync? Just stop it.

I see no option to turn off sync, or disable it?

There is a pause button.

And settings only has pause + location or speed...

Pause = stop.

Coming from Lightroom Classic, you should recognize that same "pause"-concept:

Yeah, I might call it "stop" just to remove all doubt, but that's how it is. Pause stops it.

Actually, @joshn87027797 that is helpful information, because it means you can rule out application code, and start looking at configuration. For starters, open the CC app and look through all your preferences.
