Hi @newry, thanks so much for reaching out!
Could you share a few more details about what’s happening? Just to clarify, when you click the X in the Assisted Culling dialog, does nothing happen? Are none of the buttons responding at all? If you could share a screen recording that could help us understand what's happening. Also, if you haven’t already, could you check that your graphics card drivers are up to date?
Appreciate your help in narrowing this down!
Alek

I ran into the same issue. I had used Windows Explorer to delete the folder I had last worked in. On launch, Lightroom generates a popup to tell me about the missing folder, but then layers the Assisted Culling dialog on top of it. Nothing is responsive. None of the buttons respond, including the X in the Assisted Culling dialog. Yes, my graphic cards are up to date.

In Catalog Settings, I have unchecked the Assisted Culling boxes as I have no interest or need for this functionality. Recently, I have been getting repeated popups to enable the function. How can I stop this?

Hi, we're sorry about the trouble!
Could you let us know the operating system you're working on and share a screenshot of the pop-up you're getting?
Thanks,
Nikunj

This is a hideous situation. To have to stop your work because of a stupid coding mistake. Stop selling us stuff we've already bought! Find a way to let us know that doesn't mean we can't use the software anymore.

I am having the same problem. Cannot remove the cull window by hitting the x. Just get a ping when I try to leave the screen. Cannot import. I have tried restarting multiple times with no luck. Also dinsabled assisted culling in catalog preferences. My import screen is still highjacked. I'm paying for a program I can't use.

I managed to resolve this. Instead of trying to import immediately after opening the app, if you try some other actions such as deleted an image, then you can dismiss the dialog that would otherwise be hidden by the cull pop-up. Then when you import and the annoying cull pop-up pops up yet again, you can actually close it.
What a ridiculous farce. And how absurd that the 'community' has to figure out how to make the software work.
