Before the new release I could darken a burned out sky with the tool you kind of dragged from the top/corner and down. It provided a gradient lower exposure ig I chose to do so. In the new release this tool has disseapeared? Well the icon had at least. I loved this tool. Now I can only find the 'darken sky' tool, that comes up with a very fake darkening of only the sky. I want my 'curtain' back. Does anyone know whether this tool simply dissapeared?

What version of LrC did you upgrade from?
LrC now has very powerful Masking tools which replace the old Linear Gradient, Radial Gradient and Brush local adjustment tools.
The old local adjustment tools, such as the Linear Gradient you mention, are now part of the Masking tools.

You can read or watch the tutorials at your leisure. It's also a good idea to select some files, create Virtual Copies in a collection, then practice editing these when you have time. I've attached a screenshot of how to create virtual copies in a collection. Remember, virtual copies allow you to practice edits without touching the originals.

What software are you talking about?
There is a "Sky" mask, not a "darken Sky tool" in Lightroom Classic, is that what you mean? If you are looking for the "Linear Gradient" tool in Lightroom Classic, its still there under the masking tool, or via pressing M.
