When I view a TIF file the date is being changed to today from when the image was created. Any idea why?
TIA!
David L. Crooks
It probably means the tif has no exif metadata that describes the capture date. Some software strips this metadata and then Lightroom uses the file creation date instead. How did you crreate the tif file?
Yeah, it then is Luminar AI.
Thanks!
When a photo is missing capture date in its metadata, LR uses the operating system's last-modified date of the photo's file, and as you modify the file (e.g. by editing it in an external program or by doing Metadata > Save Metadata To File), LR will update the catalog capture date to the current last-modified date.
You can stop LR from doing that annoying behavior by selecting the photo and doing Metadata > Edit Capture Time.

I probably used one of the plugins like Topaz. Thanks for the response!

Topaz plugins do not strip metadata so somehing else is going on.
