The update to Adobe Lightroom 14.0.0 has made it almost impossible for me to work effectively.
When making adjustments to edited photos in the Develop module, the image loads first, followed by the sharpness! It’s painful to watch. It feels like image loading now happens in three stages:
With all due respect, this is no way to work. When editing wedding photos, for example, I might have 800 images to finalize. After just 100, my eyes are exhausted. The sharpness shouldn’t appear after the image itself! And the colors should load immediately as well…
I have to wait an extra second after opening an image to get the correct sharpness and colors.
You will cause a visual defect in people on a global scale.
Please fix this.
By the way, version 14 performs significantly worse than version 13. It freezes more often, masks work much slower, and selecting images in the Library module is sluggish. Everything is pushing users to switch to other programs for selection and editing. Is Adobe really trying to drive users away from Lightroom?

Please go to Help > System info, click the Copy button and paste in a new reply.
After pasting, delete everything below Installed Plugins.
The highlighted text in the screenshot below is all we need, the rest takes up a lot of space and causes a lot scrolling, making thread navigation difficult.

This is not normal behavior. Indeed as suggested start with your system report. Also tell us about your setup. Where is your catalog, where are your images stored etc.

Thank you for your initial response.
I have pasted the specifications below.
I'm not convinced it's a hardware issue as I didn't have this in the previous version of Lightroom.
I always have the catalogue created new against a new job.
It is often in the same folder as the images.
Please give me any guidance.
I would preferably disable the ‘quick’ photo browsing option in favour of a full image load.

What kind of drive is that D drive you have your catalog on? SSD or spinning? How is it connected? What kind of interface?

I take it that you are running a business, in your case Wedding Photography.
How much creative work is committed via LrC v14?
How much rework are you looking at if you abandon the v14 catalog and revert/rollback to v13?
LrC v14.0, was after all probably too new to trust in a business environment, and the speed of Adobe coming out with bug fix v14.0.1 should tell us that Adobe fouled up.
Might be best to stay with pre v14 on your working computer until v14 is mature. Or until the wedding season is over. (some pro's complain about Adobe making upgrades during wedding season) Do you have a different computer to test with?
