When I merge (HDR or pano) photos I create the stack. Once I am happy with the final merged photo I would like to delete the photos that were merged, just keeping the result. Is there a way to do this without unstacking and deleteing the individual photos?

There isn't any much easier way with the built-in commands. You could save a few keystrokes:
1. Shift-click the stacking badge in the upper-left corner of merged photo. This will expand the stack and select all the photos in it.
2. Ctrl/Cmd-click the merged photo to deselect it.
3. Click the backspace/delete key to delete the remaining photos.

Thanks for the quick reply. The keystrokes will help a little, but I was hoping there was a "cleanup" command. Ah, well.

You could start by not stacking them in the Merge dialog if you are going to delete the originals anyway.
