Delete one photo causes more to be deleted

Working in develop mode. Deleting one photo causes all photos after this one to be deleted and moved to trash. In order to restore them need to do import again. This phenomina happened twice in the last two days.

Double check that you do not have multiple photos selected when you delete a photo.

Building on Johan's reply, the grey shading of thumbnails in the filmstrip and Library is subtle, so it's easy to not realize you have more than one photo selected. To ensure you have exactly one thumbnail selected, click on the grey border of the thumbnail, not the center.

Sometimes corrupted preferences cause LR to manipulate the wrong photos. Try resetting LR's preferences:

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.

As people delete photos every day, I think it is highly unlikely that this is a bug, because then many people (including me) would have reported it. So assuming this is something on your computer, maybe you should reset the preferences:
