Deleting files in Lightroom Cloud AND in Lightroom Classic

New Here ,

Hi. Could someone please help me! How can I delete files in Lightroom Classic - which has been deletet in the cloud based Lightroom (collection synced with LRC). When I delete several photos in cloud based LR, they just dissapear from the collection - not from LRC itself - still showing up in the catalog. Thanks for your assistant. Kind regards, Magne (Norway)

Just delete them like you would delete any other image you don't want anymore. Select them in 'All Photographs', press the Delete key and answer the question if you only want to remove them from the catalog or also delete them from disk.

Yes. That I understand. But, then I have to do it twice!? When I have deleted files in ligtroom cloud, I would prefere to have the same photos automatically deleted from LRC. Or - am I thinking wrong here??

Just to clarify: I know that they will be removed from the collection, but I also want them to be automatically removed from the LRC Catalog - including the original file itself. I like to sit with my iPad to delete unwanted files, and as you understand I would like to have then removed from LRC also - not only the collection.

That is not possible. When it comes to syncing, Lightroom Classic is the king. If you delete an image in Lightroom Classic, then it will also be deleted from the cloud. If you delete an image in the cloud, then it will only be 'unsynced' in Lightroom Classic. You can't change that, so manage this from Lightroom Classic to avoid having to do it twice.

I found a way to make my wish come trough. In lightroom cloud on ipad, I mark all photos I wish to delete totally with reject flag. Then they also show up in LRC as rejected - were I can select all of them - and then select delete from disk.

Yes, using the reject flag is always more efficient than deleting each image as soon as you decide you no longer need it, even if you only use Lightroom Classic, but in this case it makes it possible to use the iPad for those decisions, and still use Lightroom Classic for the actual deleting.
