Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

Your System Info doesn't show anything obviously wrong. What are the precise symptoms when you try to use Denoise? And when you try to use Remove? If you see any error messages, please post a full-resolution screenshot (not a phone pic) of the entire LR window, including the message.

As a diagnostic step, try putting a copy of that original photo on the Desktop and importing it with the Add option (so it doesn't get moved or copied). Can you run Denoise on that copy?

1. Double-check that the test photo is currently still on the Desktop as intended: Go to Library Grid view, right-click the photo, and do Go To Folder In Library. Hover the mouse over the selected folder to see its full path pop up:
2. Your System Info shows that you've opened what appears to be a catalog backup:
Library Path: /Volumes/T7 Shield/Lightroom Backup MacPro2022/2023-12-12/2025-03-05 2124/Lightroom Catalog-2-v12-v13-v13-6JUN24/Lightroom Catalog-2-v12-v13-v13-6JUN24.lrcat
Is that intended?
3. Try making a new test catalog on the Desktop by doing File > New Catalog. Import the test photo you put on your Desktop into the test catalog with the Add option. Does Denoise still fail?
4. If step 3 does fail, let's check that there's no issue with the test photo itself. Upload it to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar and post the sharing link here. We can see if Denoise works with it on other LR installations.

So think I fixed it. I had to uninstall the latest update (14.2) and reinstall 14.1.1. Not the greatest fix but it works.

Glad you found a workaround, but it's obviously unsatisfying. You're on an M1 Mac with the latest Mac OS and LR, so there really shouldn't be a problem. If it were a general bug in in LR 14.2 using the M1's GPU, we'd have seen many, many more reports here by now.
LR 14.3 is due out in a few weeks. Let us know if you encounter a similar issue with it.

I used the denoise before about a month ago and had no problems, then just the other day I started getting this error message. I try to use the denoise before editing my pictures.
