LRC, DISPARITION DE FICHIERS PHOTO LORS DU DÉPLACEMENT DANS UN DOSSIER

Bonjour,

There are a lot of recent reports of this happening, and I don't remember these reports coming in so frequently, if at all, a year ago. The symptoms are the same: user tries to move photos to another folder using Lightroom Classic, some photos move, the rest don't move in LrC (sometimes the report is that they have disappeared, they are neither in the destination folder in LrC nor are they in the original folder in LrC) but they do move in the operating system. I think this should be reported as a serious bug.

Here are two other recent reports:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/moving-files-sometimes-doesn-t-work/m-p...
https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/file-locations-not-updated-after-updati...

@Rikk Flohr: Photography what do you think?

To @Coyote Solitaire , please search for these missing photos in LrC using this four step procedure. What do you find?

1. In the Lightroom Classic Library Module, on the left, under Catalog, click on All Photographs
2. Turn off all filters (Ctrl-L once or twice)
3. Turn off all stacking (Photo->Stacking->Expand All Stacks)
4. Search for at least one of these photos by file name using the Lightroom Classic Filter Bar

Also, develop workflows that don't require you to move photos from here to there. Put the photos in their final folder straight out of the camera ... no moving. (EXCEPTION ... if you need to move photos to a new disk then you do it following Part 2 of these instructions)

@dj_paige

I've tested after each of the afore mentioned threads and have never successfully duplicated this failure. In my personal workflows I move folders regularly and have never experienced this there either. I've not noted a frequency increase in these types of reports either. Your 'over the last year' feeling may be simply due to the now 11-month-old migration from our previous support forum. Over the 12 years I was on that forum we would see a report now and then of this type of behavior. I note that all three of these reports (2 Linked and this one) are Windows which is my primary OS. I suspect (but have little or no evidence) that we are missing a component in the steps to induce the failure or that a particular machine state is required to cause this.

To report this as a bug we need to have solid reproduction instructions. Rereading theses posts, I do not see where we have that. Without that, the bug would simple be closed as "Unable to reproduce"

I would be more than happy to test any workflow that people wish to describe step-by-step, provided that they can repeatedly cause a failure using those steps. Till then, we need to figure out what the missing puzzle piece is.

We are continuing to monitor this topic.

I understand @Rikk Flohr: Photography . A fourth report in recent days: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/moving-picture-files-between-folders/td... And I'm sure I saw many more before I began keeping track of the URLs.

As it is not happening to me, I can't provide reproducible instructions.

I have had similar problems. Use Windows to look at the content of your new file folder.
