Does defringe need to be manually set for each image or is it safe to use it as a preset?

Does the defringe tool need to be manually adjusted for each image, or is it safe to save it in a preset and apply it to all images in batch processing that come from the same camera and lens unit, without causing any problems if some images have less, more, or no fringing?

Let's assume they were all shot with the same aperture, or would different apertures require setting up a different preste?

But what if the types of lights are different?

In areas where there are different or no fringing, the defringing preset causes desaturation or strange color cast of edges.
