Hi there,

every time I try to open up an image from Lightroom into Photoshop I get an error message that reads " the file cannot be edited because adobe Photoshop 2024 cannot be launched". I've attached an image of this error. A second error message will Pop up reading "an internal error has occurred AgstoreProviderSession:getEntityByID: ID must be a number or a string". I have also attached an image of this error. The image will eventually open in Photoshop, but it takes a really long time, whereas before it was almost instantly opening in Photoshop.  I tried using the newest version of Lightroom and a photoshop, but the issue still persisted if not more bugs and issues were occurring with the newer version. I'm using Photoshop version 25.

Please in LrC bring up /preferences/external editing/ and take a screen capture of it, then post that in a reply.

LrC v12.3 on MACOS v 14.0? Why?

Why have you not upgraded to  LrC v13.1, and why not to MACOS  v14.2.1 (note that MACOS 14.2.0 has issues with LrC)

And see:

An afterthought, your PS, it is not perhaps a Beta copy?

The software that I used to send my clients their galleries I've been having a lot of issues with the newer version of Lightroom classic hence why I'm using an older version. I have been in touch with the software company to try to fix it but for now I'm using an older version so that I can get galleries out. as for your question for external editing, I can't seem to find where preferences are if you can direct me a little bit more on that would be fantastic.

the photo shop is not beta copy.

Ok, so you need to stay with v12 for compatibility with clients that have not upgraded.

So why v12.3 and not v12.5?

And Please in LrC bring up /preferences/external editing/ ad post in a reply a screen Capture of that.

On MACOS I think that is in /File/Preferences/

LATEST

Hi,

It seems like there might be compatibility issues between your current versions of Lightroom and Photoshop. To address this, I recommend checking for updates in both applications. Also, ensure your system meets the required specifications for the latest versions. If the problem persists, consider reinstalling the Adobe Creative Cloud apps. Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance.

Best,
[Osman_04]
