Hi there,

We're sorry for the import issue. Are you getting error message if you do the import again? How raw files are trying to import in one go? Try re-configuring the NAS with your machine and see if that helps to resolve the problem for you. Let us know how it goes for you.

Thanks,
Mohit

LATEST

I'm experiencing the same issue.

First time I've seen this issue is early October.
since then macOS as well as Synology DSM have been updated multiple times. Everything is on the most recent non-beta version for me.

Catalog is local in the pictures folder, Image destination is Synology SMB share. This has been working for me exactly this way since ~2015.

I insert the SD in the card reader, it doesn't matter if I use the internal or an external one and it doesn't matter if the device is connected via Wifi or Ethernet. I select the images that I want to import, hit Import and the process begins.

For ~10-30 images everything works as it always has. But then I see that no data is being transferred any more.
If I open Finder and try to navigate inside the SMB share I only see the loading wheel in the bottom right corner. So the connection seems as it was disconnected entirely.

I'm able to able the import process weiterhin Lightroom Classic, but I'm unable to re-establish the SMB connection. Unmounting and remounting does not work. Restarting the Finder doesn't work either. To get back to a usable state I have to reboot the entire machine. Most of the time by holding the power button for 10s.

After a reboot, the ability to mount the share is restored. When I look in the directory I see that the first ~20 images are in place together with their XMP sidecars. They are renamed to their desired scheme as well. But the last ~2 are zero bytes and un-renamed.

When I open LrC, the first ~20 copied images are in place, but the import as a whole is incomplete.

As a workaround, I delete all the images from the share, sync the folder in LrC to get rid of them and import them as a whole again to a local temp folder on the internal SSD. This works as normal. After that within LrC I drag the local folder to the SMB share to their desired destination and they will be moved without a hitch.

This works, but is a very annoying process. Please fix the ability to import to a SMB share in one easy step.

If you have further questions, I'll do my best to be of assistance.
