Filter by ratings--Not Working

Community Beginner ,

Using LR Classic (12.1) on Windows 10

I've done this hundreds of times before, but today it's not working.

Going through some old files and deleting "bad" shots

I designate certain files 1 or 2 stars and I intend to select all those with 2 stars or below for deletion.

I have enabled library filters and secondarily, filter by rating with 2 or below and no files appear.

Baffled?

Any ideas?

Maybe Off topic, but FYI (Re: Deleting photos), do you know of the [Refine Photos...] Library menu command that uses Flags (not Star Ratings)?  [Ctrl+Alt+R]

This function will cause any 'unmarked' photos (not flagged), to have the 'Rejected' flag, and will unmark any marked (Picked flag) photos.

So the workflow is-

1) For all "keepers" photos (the one you want to keep!) - Flag as 'Picked'  [P]

2) Run [Refine Photos...]  (It only works in the current folder Grid view)

3) Now any photos that were NOT picked will be marked as 'Rejected'

4) Press [Ctrl+Backspace] and all 'Rejected' photos are deleted permanently from the Disk.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.0, Photoshop 27.0, ACR 18.0, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0 .

I did stumble across that in my search...definitely would be handy..

I often start by rating everything 3 stars and then go through and refine
it.
