Try deleting the "<catalog> Helper.lrdata" folder -- it caches information about LR folders and infrequently gets corrupted:
1. Do Catalog Settings > General > Show to open File Explorer on your catalog folder.
2. Exit LR.
3. In the catalog folder, delete the subfolder "<catalog> Helper.lrdata".
4. Restart LR. It will rebuild "<catalog> Helper.lrdata".
Let us know if that fixes the issue.

Sounds like a Preferences issue. You can reset them using the information here:

Tried it, still did not work. š I'm a bit affected since its a part of my workflow that I have been using eversince. š

Please be kind enough to tell us the version NUMBER of your Lightroom Classic. We need the version NUMBER and not words like "latest" or "up-to-date".
