Filters reset themselves: what to do to keep them?

Explorer ,
Aug 17, 2018 Aug 17, 2018

In my Library, the filters (see image) on the bottom of my window, reset themselves overtime. In the image below you now can see: flags, stars and color labels... but - I think when I close and re-open LR - they are all gone and I manually have to bring them back, which is annoying. I recently re-installed LR and since then this happens. Before it was all good and they stayed visible, even after closing the application.

Also, the arrows, left and right, to turn images 45° aren't visible anymore and I just can't seem to find how they get implemented in that bar again.

Can anyone give advice on this?

Thank you!

Hi kurtvandeweerdt,

We're really sorry for all the trouble. You may try resetting the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps.

How to set Lightroom Classic CC preferences

Let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Mohit

What you are seeing is completely normal. That is the Quick Filter section, for the lack of another name for it.

The REAL Filter bar is at the top of the screen and brought up or closed by pressing the \ key.

I am pretty sure this started happening recently. Also, photos cannot be re-filtered with the same nor a different filter until the current export has completed and the catalogue updated. I don't think it happened a year ago, for example. And yes, it is annoying.

You’ve posted to a very old thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same issue which you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information including system information, a complete description of the problem and step-by-step instructions for reproduction.

In the unlikely event the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.

Thank you!

Oh and the arrows to rotated the image by 90 degrees (Not 45 degrees) is in the Tool bar which can be shown or hidden by hitting the "T" (Lower case t) key.

You can lock the filters at the top of the main window by clicking on the lock icon.
