Folders fail to show up in the Import Dialog?

I have a customer that was trying to import images from a drive with a straight forward folder structure. This is on a current Windows Computer. Current LrC version.

On import, LrC shows the disk but not the folders! Has anyone seen this sort of thing?

I am not a Windows support person but we solved the issue by creating a new folder, dragging the folders we were trying to import into that. We did this in the Windows File Explorer...then LrC "saw" the folders.

Windows had no trouble seeing the folders at any time.

Hey, @Steve Gandy. I'll help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Lightroom Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

Where is the catalog stored? On the internal or external drive? Try this:

1 - In the Import window > ensure 'Include Subfolders' is selected.

2 - Try dragging a few images from the folder to Lightroom Classic from the external drive; this will select the photos in the correct directory & should populate the whole list.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Can you please show us a screen capture of the Import dialog box and another screen capture of Windows Explorer so we can see what is going on? Please use the "Insert Photos" Icon to include you screen captures in your reply. Do not attach files.
