Hello,

my Lightroom classic is freezing last two days after every launch of the program.

Sometimes a few moments after launch, sometimes it let me to open some library and then it freezes. Occasionally it starts to work if I leave it like that for a few minutes, but than it freezes again after I do a few things.

I tried to :

  • restart the computer
  • optimize catalog
  • purge cache
  • expand cache limit to 200 GB - there is enough space on that disc ( 220 GB free)
  • There is still 250 GB free space on disc where my catalog is

It started really suddenly. No update last few days, no changes. All my other programs are working smoothly.

I am running on :

Windows 10 Home

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.6 GHz

32 GB RAM

AMD Radeon RX 6600 8 GB

Thanks for advices.

The first thing that you should try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

If Lightroom doesn't start correctly the please see "Solution 2" in the document behind the second link.

If this help then check if there are a new version of your graphoc driver is available.

Another step is to try to reset the Lightroom preferences.
