Running the latest MacOS with LR 15.0, I edited a new gallery. Tried to delete and remove some rejected photos, Could not do it bulk, so I individually removed as well as deleted some; both seemed to work. Then edited the remaining photos. Exported jpegs successfully. then went to close Lightroom. It said I needed to pick a new backup folder. I retried, then tried to pick a new folder. it errored out and closed LR. I reopened, did another backup, and thought I successfuly created new backup. but upon reopening again all the removed photos were back. Blank spots for the deleted photos were back. And all my edits are gone. Then I just updated to the LR 15.0.1 but the gallery is still not showing any edits etc? Was this a bug that was fixed? have I lost all those edits?

Hi @Ddubphotos, welcome to the community!
Sorry to hear your edits aren’t showing up. Could you double-check that you opened your most recent catalog and not a backup? If possible, please share a screenshot of what you mean by blank spots for the deleted photos, that’ll help us understand better.
Did you happen to re-import the photos? If the edits are still in the catalog but previews didn’t build correctly, the RAWs might look unedited. Try going to the Develop module and check if the adjustment sliders are at zero or if they have values. If the sliders show edits but the image looks unedited, go to Library > Previews > Build Standard-Sized Previews.
Let us know how it goes, we’re here to help!

Thank you for your reply. I confirmed that I had opened the most recent Catalog. The one currently showing is the one that was created when I updated lightroom on 10/28/25.
I cannot now share a screenshot of the blank spots reflecting the deleted photos. They were in the Library view in the grid and in the strip at the bottom. I had deleted 7 photos from the folder. when LR started again there were simply gray boxes where the photos should be because they were no longer in the apple folder, having been previously deleted individually out of LR. they still showed the file name though. Unfortunately I cannot show you that as after I wrote the first post here, i tried deleting again to see if that delete/remove function was working now, which it is. I did not re-import the photos either. LR is still pointing to the correct apple folder containing all the remaining photos, including the ones I simply "removed" from LR.
Oh, I looked in the develop module and none of the photos show slider edits or mask edits that I had made and therefore no standard previews could be made.
I may be wrong, but I am guessing something nuked the edits when the glitch happened making the attempted first backup after the update. At least I have the jpg's i created before that happened. If you have any other ideas I am all ears!
Thanks again.

Hi @Ddubphotos, thanks for sharing those details!
Could you also share your System Info? You can find it in Lightroom Classic under Help > System Info. Just copy the info into a text file and attach it to your response, or share it with us through Google Drive, WeTransfer, or any file-sharing platform you prefer.
Also, by any chance, do you have a plugin called ImagenAI installed? Other users have reported that it can cause issues with backups, exporting, and retaining AI edits.
Thanks so much!
Alek

Thanks,
Here is the info below. Since the issue, I have had no further problems and have saved a few more galleries without issue. I do not have ImagenAI installed.
