I have long wanted to get photos from my smartphone (Android) into LRC. My phone photos backup to Google Photos on my Phone and desktop. How do I take a photo from Google Photos on the desktop and move it into LRC also on my desktop?
Which version of Lightroom are you using? Do you have all the photos on your mobile or an external hard drive?
Do you want the images in Lightroom Desktop as well?
If you want to import the images from Google photos, then please, in photos.google.com, select your images. In the upper-right, there is a menu (three vertical dots) where you can choose download. That will put your google photos on your computer as JPEGS. There might be a ZIP folder in which you will get the files, for example, the "photos.ZIP" file. You will have to "extract" them.
With the images now on your computer, you can import them into Lightroom Classic with the "Add " option.
Hello Ranjisha, Thank you for your response. I tried what you said to do. I downloaded a test image from Google Photos and saw that it was then a jpg. I went into LRC and when I saw that a source option was Google I thought that would be it. But no. No photos were listed as being in Google!? I tried other 'sources' but I could not find my test image. What now? Richard
Hi again Ranjisha, I have tried a few times now to identify the source of my photo for LRC and have tried about everything I can think of. I did see a source labeled S21 for my camera phone and thought I was all set again. I even sent the photo in question into that folder. However, I couldn't find the S21 source again on two separate occasions. Do you have any ideas why I cannot find the source so that LRC could import it. Thanks, Richard
