Have just moved to a new Macbook. I used Apple Migration Assistant to move everything exactly across from one computer to the other. All 26000 photos are de-linked. For the most I can just find the new locations and then its fine.
However, my oldest photos are from a Iphotos and Photo Library catalogue. These were working fine on my old computer. I can see that the photos have all been moved across.
Issue is that when I go to find the new location the Iphotos and Photolibrary folders are greyed out in the folder. What should I do? The photos are definately on the computer in the location I need I just can select the location to relink??

Lightroom cannot look inside an iPhoto library or a Photos library, so that is not where your photos are located if they are already in the Lightroom Classic catalog. Look in the Lightroom Classic folder panel where Lightroom Classic thinks these photos should be. That will probably give you a clue which folders you will have to relink. Most likely they will be in the 'LightroomMasters' folder.

Hi Johan, thanks for trying to help. Photos are not in the LightroomMasters' folder. There are only a few there I had arraged into folders. The vast majority were just imported and not arranged into sets.
My prompt for the locations shows this with just my user name in front...
This apears to show the files are in the folders which are now greyed out... Let me know if that is any clearer. Many thanks in advance Alex

Somehow you linked the Lightroom Classic catalog directly to picture folders that are inside the Photos library. I think that's a bad idea, but I know there are tricks to do this. But that means you will have to repeat that trick on the new computer, because by default Lightroom Classic cannot look inside a Photos library package.
