HDR files disappearing

Hi everyone, had been having a frustrating issue lately: I will merge RAW files to create an HDR, edit said file, export it, and go on with my day. However, once I return to Lightroom, the HDR file has disappeared along with all the edits done to it - I can still see the file in my PC folder, but without any of the applied edits.

I am going crazy, had been working on a picture for a while and when I went to retrieve it my work was gone. Any solutions? What is going on?

Most likely you have set a filter that filters out the HDR file. Look for it in 'All Photographs' and make sure you have no active filters when you do. Edits are saved in the catalog, not in the image. It's normal that you will not see the Lightroom edits when you view the image in its folder using Windows Explorer.
