Hi,
Looking for a specific old photo recently which I couldn't find in the catalogue even searching using the text of the file name. However I could find the file in the expected folder using explorer. I therefore set LTc to sync the folder. It listed a whole load of images in that folder to sync BUT then greyed them out saying they werre already in the catalogue somewhere. However I have hunted and searched everywherev in the catalogue and can't find them. I renamed the specific image in the source folder, synced and was able to import that one image but there are too many to rename all the missing images in the source folder.
I don't understand how LRc can be seeing the images in its catalogue but not be able to find them using the search.
Can anyone suggest a solution to finding them or, in extremis, a way of renaming the files in the source folder so it avoids treating them as duplicates?
Thanks
Nick

PS I note some talk about using Bridge to remove duplicates - I did do this using Bridge. I wonder if there is a connection?

If you use stacks and the missing photos are in a 'collapsed' stack, then search won't find the photo(s). FThe easiest way to open a lot of stacks in one hit is to use the 'Expand all Stacks' menu option. Search should then be able to find the hidden photos.
