I'd love to recover my old photos from college when I first purchased lightroom, I have the serial number and everything as well as proof I bought the student creative cloud bundle.
Lightroom cloud did not exist yet in 2012, so this must have been what is now called 'Lightroom Classic'. That version stores the images locally, so there is nothing to 'recover'. You will have to find the drive on which the images were stored and the catalog that was used for storing the edits.
