How do I remap my catalogue location?

Hi All,

Just got back to work after annual leave and fired up LRC to find question marks next to all my folders. Turns out there was some security issue on the media server where my catalogue is kept and our IT dept tell me to remap the drive using its IP address. All is fine now my PC can see the folders again, but Lightroom still can't! If I right click  on the folder N:, which is the drive I need to access, it gives me an option to update folder location, but when I select the folder I get the following message, "The selected folder or one of its subfolders is already in Lightroom. Do you want to combine these folders? Then I have a merge or cancel button to press. Do I want to merge these folders? Is this the right way to reconnect to my raw files etc?

Many thanks.

First, although you should be doing this anyway without me asking, make a backup of your catalog file before you do anything.

I assume that before this happened the drive letter was somethng different than N? Just change the drive letter back to what it was previously (using Windows).

Or, if that isn't possible, then Update Folder Location is what you need to do. Yes, you want to merge the folders.
