How do I stop notifications on a tread that I've posted on and had a satisfactory answer? I'm getting lads of notifications for identical questions to one I asked!

Click  on your account button (your Avatar) at top right corner, choose 'Edit Community Profile', then click on the Notifications tab. Attached screenshot may help

You should also check which threads you're following. Disiable any that you want to stop following.

Unfollowing the thread is the answer. The notifications tab will only set/change notifications for all threads that you follow, not for individual threads.
