If you want the latest version, you must pay a recurring fee. Adobe no longer offers a perpetual license for Lightroom.

 

As an aside, Adobe also doesn't sell LR 6.0 anymore. If you purchased it recently, you got it from an illegitimate source. I would be highly suspicious of it containing malware.

The post to which you answered is from August 2017 and at this time you could buy LR 6 officially. So I think it isn't  illegitimate
