How to restore images back onto lightroom after computers hard drive crashed

Hi all, i am having trouble restoring old edited images onto lightroom after my hard drive crashed. does lightroom not save images onto a cloud servor or is it saved onto the hard computers hard drive?

Lightroom Classic saves images locally, not in the cloud. If the disk with the images on it crashed and you never made a backup, then you may have a problem that can only be solved by an expensive recovery procedure of that disk.

Are you talking about Lightroom or Lightroom Classic?

 

Lightroom (the new Lightroom, not the old Lightroom) does store images in the cloud. Lightroom Classic does not store images in the cloud.

 

It should definitely be a thing that Adobe must start doing.

 

I would say it is your responsibility to make backups of everything.
