How to save Dehancer edits all in the cloud?

Community Beginner ,

Hello,

I´ve been using Lightroom for a while but got Lightroom Classic just right now and I am struggling with the way it handles storing the images. Every time I create a copy when I am editing an image with Dehancer it creates a local copy which is not being uploaded to the cloud.
I need to add the copies manually to the cloud.

This is a very annoying workflow. How can I solve this?

Best regards!

Lightroom-Classic 'stores' ALL images locally. Full stop!

Any 'copy' created will be stored locally, usually next to its original version that is local.

Now to consider "upload to the Cloud"- You have two choices:

1) Open Lightroom (the Cloud based version. aka Lightroom-Desktop) and Add/Import the 'copy' file which will send the full-size version of the file to the Cloud catalog.

2) Add the copy to a Synced Collection in Lr-Classic and a proxy (Smart preview- long edge 2560 pixels) will be synced to the Cloud to be available in Lr-Mobile and Lr-Web.

You cannot 'solve' the problem at this moment, but there are others asking for Adobe to allow this 'feature' to be added to Lr-Classic.  (Cannot find the 'idea' link of requests at this moment.)

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 14.3, Photoshop 26.6, ACR 17.3, Lightroom 8.3, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 15.0.4 .

Be aware that in the long run, this should become more automatic: Adobe has been testing an improved Enhance that does not require making a copy, it’s just an adjustment to the original. For now this improved Enhance is a “technology preview” in Adobe Camera Raw, for user testing, but Adobe has said that after it’s debugged it will be added to Lightroom and Lightroom Classic.

Until they achieve that, for now you do have to manually add the Enhanced copy to the list of photos synced to the cloud by Lightroom Classic.

However, another thing to keep in mind is that Lightroom Classic never syncs full resolution images to the cloud, only Smart Previews, so even after the improved Enhance features are added to Lightroom Classic you will still not be getting the original in the cloud. So, for example, if you used the Enhance feature Super Resolution, the version synced up from Lightroom Classic will still be limited to the resolution of Smart Previews.

Thank you very much for your answer!

"but Adobe has said that after it’s debugged it will be added to Lightroom and Lightroom Classic."
How is it supporssed to work with Lightroom if it doesn´t support pluggins?
This would be a gamechanger for me.

Because it has nothing to do with a plug-in. Although Camera Raw is a plug-in, remember that Lightroom and Lightroom Classic include the same options. That’s because Lightroom and Lightroom Classic use an embedded (built-in) form of Adobe Camera Raw.

That's also why you can make an edit in Lightroom and Camera Raw can read and show that same edit: They’re using the same processing engine and same options.

When Adobe releases a new version of Camera Raw with additional features and fixes, traditionally they also release versions of Lightroom and Lightroom Classic so that they can all continue to work together.
